How can I get from the International Airport to the villa?
The villa is approximately 88 km from Lisbon Airport which is about 50 min by car. The easiest way is to rent a car at the airport upon arrival.
Do I need a car to get around?
In our opinion its best to have a car to get around. This way you can easily visit all the nice places which are located not too far from the villa.
How far is the nearest city?
Caldas da Rainha is the closest city which is located at 6 km (10 min by car) from the villa.
How far is the beach?
Praia da Foz do Arelho is the nearest beach which is located at 6,6 km (11 min) ; Praia de São Martinho do Porto is located at 19,7 km (17 min) ; Praia da Nazaré is located at 30,5 km (28 min) and Praia Baleal is located at 35,5 km (26 min).
Is there a supermarket nearby?
Intermarché (Caldas da Rainha) is at 3,5 km (6 min) ; Modelo Continente (Caldas da Rainha) is at 4,2 km (6 min) ; Lidl (Caldas da Rainha) is at 4,5 km (7 min).
Is there a place to rent a boat or waterski?
The best place to rent a boat or waterski would be in Nazaré. This is the biggest beach nearby which has a lot of rental companies. Here you can also book a ‘Dolphin Safari’ with Atlantic Safaris.
Is there a place to go diving?
The best place to go diving would be around the Berlengas Islands, a zodiac of islands spread over several miles to the West from Peniche coast. The UNESCO reserve offers some of the most transparent and beautiful diving conditions from the mainland.
Is there a place to go surfing?
If you want to follow surf lessons; either Peniche or Nazaré would be the best places to go to. Peniche is well known to most surfers. Suitable for beginners and for the best in the world.
What time of year are the biggest waves in Nazare Portugal?
The Big Waves season in Nazaré is between October and March (winter season in Portugal) but September and April also works (in some years).
Do we need to bring our own towels?
No. There are plenty of towels that you can use.
Do we need to bring bed linen?
No. We have everything that you need for a good night rest. No need to bring anything!
What facilities are available for small children?
The following items are available for usage: 2 travel beds, 1 bouncer, 1 maxi cosi, 1 eating chair, 1 raised seat to put on a dining chair, baby cutlery … and a lot of toys to play with!
What needs to happen with waste or garbage?
Waste needs to be recycled and then dropped into one of the containers on the side of the street. There are plenty of containers in the area to drop off your garbage. In the villa, we have containers to recycle Cardboard, Glass & Plastic (color coded).
